AR hails Ramkating's sacrifice

Imphal, March 08 2017: Assam Rifles has hailed the selfless sacrfice of late Ramkating, who was killed in an IED blast at Ashang Khullen.

"Ramakatheng's love for peace and rule of law as a noble citizen will be always remembered .

His selfless sacrifice deserves to be honoured and respected by the Government", said a statement issued by HQ IGAR(South) .

AR units operating under HQ IGAR (South) displayed selfless devotion, courage and sacrifice yesterday when they successfully averted another attempt of insurgents to disrupt the democratic election in the State.

Parties of 31 Assam Rifles and 17 Assam Rifles operating under 10 Sector Assam Rifles came under intense gun fire and were attacked IEDs near Aishi village and K Ashang Khullen.

Two jawans of Assam Rifles sustained severe injuries and civilian Ramkating, s/o Soringam of Ashang Khullen sacrificed his life to uphold the rights of people and establishment of democratic governance.
