FEGOCTA protest enters 9th day

Imphal, February 08 2021: The protest of Federation of Government College Teachers Associations (FEGOCTA) demanding 7th UGC Pay and Regulations 2018 entered 9th day, today.

Today, demonstrations were staged at Lamka College, Imphal College , Maharaj Bodhachandra College, Manipur College ,Ng College etc.

Speaking to media persons, FEGOCTA general secretary, Dr N Somorendro Singh said that the Government still remains mum regarding their fresh series of protests.

He charged that the Government also didn't honour the written and verbal assurance given to them regarding UGG 7th pay earlier.

Not issuing an order for the same till date though approved by the State Cabinet in August 2020 is rather unfortunate, he added.

The protesting teacher also asked the State Government to take responsibility if their proposed February 12, 13 and 17 agitations disturb the academic atmosphere in the State.

It may be mentioned that the federation has resolved to take mass casual leave on February 12 and 13 and boycott classes on February 17 if their demand is not entertained.
