Talks over NSU site positive : KSO moves from 'suspension' to 'call off' stir stand

Talks over the National Sports University issue between the State Government and KSO Sadar Hills today bore fruit prompting the student body to call off its relaxed 3 6hours total shutdown in the interest of resolving the issue harmoniously.
Tke nearly an hour long talk which begin at around 10 in the morning, chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his Chamber was attended by YAS Minister Letpao Haokip and Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen on the part of the Government while Thangminlen Kipgen, president KSO Sadar Hills led the KSO representatives including Paotinthang Lupheng, president, KSO-GHQs, Ngamkhohao Haokip, Gen Secy, KSO Sadar Hills and members of KSO Delhi NCR.
Briefing media persons at Kangpokpi DHQs after returning from the State capital, Thangminlen Kipgen said that the talks between the Government and the student body today is 'positive' to resolve the NSU issue.
"The State Government after considering the National Sports University issue finally responded positively during the talks today which subsequently encouraged us to withdraw the relaxed 36 hours total shutdown along National Highway-2", asserted Thangminlen Kipgen.
He continued that Chief Minister N Biren Singh have entrusted Water Resources and YAS Minister Letpao Haokip and assigned full power to resolve the issue amicably within the month of January taking into account the sentiments of all stake holders.
"Considering the serious commitment of the State Government to come up with an amicable solution suitable for all stakeholders within the month of January we have decided to completely withdraw the relaxed 36 hours total shutdown", claimed the KSO president.
He also pointed out that had the Government been committed like this before occurrence of any of the ugly incidents in the initial stage could have been averted.
The major demand of KSO Sadar Hills is to rectify the error in connection with the allocation of land belonging to Haraothel, now L Tangnaum village to the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports for construction of National Sports University and if so necessary the same portion of land may be allotted under proper channel and proper authority.
The student body appealed the people of Manipur to give more space for amicable solution rather than politicizing the issue.
