Pillion rider loses leg in accident

Imphal, September 05 2011:
In a bizarre incident, a pillion rider lost his right foot while the driver sustained serious injuries on his right leg in an accident when the bike in which they are travelling tried to take over an Autorickshaw at Sabungkhok under Lamlai police station at around 7.15 am today.
Informations culled from the site of the incident said that the two bikers were coming from Litan, Ukhrul on a CRD bike bearing no.MN-04B 4259 when they slammed into an Auto-rickshaw bearing registration no.MN01Y3311 carrying hacksaw.
The right leg of the pillion rider was instantly cut off by the hacksaw.
The pillion rider whose whose right leg had been chopped-off in the unfortunate incident has been identified as Barnabas Hungyo of Luisophung village, Litan, son of Kapangkhui Hungyo and his companion as Anonimous Jajo, son of Theingai Jajo.
The Autorickshaw owner has been identified as Md.Samir Khan, son of Abdul Rasifof Khurai, Khomidok.
The injured pillion rider has been admitted to Raj Polyclinic, North AOC, Imphal.
