Health, eye check-up camp held

Lions Club of greater Imphal in association with Vision Plus conducted health and eye check-up at Punya Shelter home for girls on Sunday, a statement issued by PRO, Lions Club of greater Imphal informed.
A team of seven opthalmologist and an eye specialist from Vision Plus and three other doctors participated in today's camp.
Altogether, 52 patients including 43 inmates and staff of the shelter home availed the facility of free health and eye check up during the camp.

A total of 26 inmates and 5 staff were detected with refractive error.
Lions Club of greater Imphal provided free spectacles to the 26 inmates during the camp, the statement informed.
For the 5 staff, eye glasses and frames were made available at subsidised rate by the club.
The camp also provided free medicines to 16 inmates with minor ailments.
The Lions Club of greater Imphal has also volunteered to change the lighting of the study rooms of the shelter on the recommendation of the visiting eye specialist.
The lighting works for the shelter would be taken up by the club in association with Havells eco-friendly LED lights, the statement said.
