Imphal, February 04 2025:
The 22nd foundation day of All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs Organisation (AMMPACO) was observed today at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club in Majorkhul, Imphal.
The ceremony was graced by Yumkhaibam Hayatur Rahman, president, AMMPACO; Soraisam Memcha, president, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur; Ph Nando Luwang, president, AMUCO; Y Kunjarani, president, AMAWOVA; Ashang Kasar, president, Indigenous People's Forum, Manipur; Professor Abdul Sattar Shah, Principal, Lilong Haoreibi College; Hazrat Moulana Mufti Ramijuddin, Imam, Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai and Ipham Ongbi Jano Begum, president, Kshetrigao Apunba Nupi Lup as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Ph Nando Luwang accused the India Government of orchestrating the nearly two-year old Manipur conflict.
He said that people have lost faith in the Central Government as they have allowed the violence from both sides to fester unchecked.
He raised suspicions of an agenda to annihilate the indigenous people from Manipur and disintegrate the State.
Since Manipur merged with the Indian Union, the Centre has viewed the State with a different lens.
The people of Manipur were subjected to violence when they appealed for Statehood and inclusion of Meiteilon in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, he pointed out.
Appealing for a resolution to the conflict is warranted.
If the Government cannot bring a solution then the public should arrive at a concrete resolution, said Ph Nando Luwang.
Meanwhile, Yumkhaibam Hayatur Rahman informed that AMMPACO was established in 2003 .
Since its inception till date, AMMPACO has tackled various issues of the State with the cooperation of different CSOs.
As a part of the ceremony, simple gifts were presented to CSO representatives and media persons.
