Imphal, November 03 2019: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar arrived here at around 2 pm today.

He was received by Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Principal Secretary (Social Welfare) V Vumlunmang and Social Welfare Director Ng Uttam at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

Together with Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu and top officials of Social Welfare and MOBC Depart- ments, Krishan Pal Gurjar would review Social Welfare and MOBC schemes being implemented in the State at 10 am tomorrow, informed a source.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Special Secretary Shambhu Singh would arrive here to make a direct assessment of the development works being done on Imphal-Mao highway.

Shambhu Singh would also inspect the bridge being constructed at Sawombung along Imphal-Ukhrul road, informed a source.

Notably, steel reinforcements of the bridge were washed by rising water current recently.
