MEELAL burns Meetei Mayek-less festoon

Imphal, July 03 2013: Volunteers of Meetei Meetei Eyek Erol Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) pulled down a festoon put up in connection with opening of the LG Shoppe at Khuyathong DMC Road and burnt it down in front of its office today.

The festoon which was written as "Grand opening of LG Shoppe" was found without any Meetei Mayek script written along with it.

Addressing media persons in this regard here today, Sadokpam Tomba, President of MEELAL, stated that MEELAL has been launching various types of agitations for the promotion of Meetei Mayek in the State.

As a part of these ongoing agitations, all types of hoardings and festoons which put up without Meetei Mayek script are being pulled down and burnt.

The festoon which was hung up in connection with the opening of LG Shoppe was also found without Meetei mayek script on it.

So, it was pulled down and burnt by volunteers of MEELAL, he added.
