Imphal, February 03 2022: The flag hoisting ceremony cum public meeting of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency Janata Dal (United) candidate, Thangjam Arunkumar was held today at his residence located at Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai.

Addressing the media persons in connection with the event, Thangjam Arunkumar said that he is contesting the upcoming election acknowledging the desire of his supporters and general public of the constituency who are looking for changes and development in the Constituency.

He further stated that he will do everything at his level best and will strive earnestly to bring all round development and assured that he will stand up to the expectations of his people.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, a public meeting was held which was attended by Afaque Ahmad Khan General Secretary and Northeast In-charge JD(U), Hangkhanpao Taithul, JD(U) State President, other members of the party and intending candidates of different assembly constituencies among others.

Addressing the gathering, Afaque Ahmad Khan asserted that JD(U) will take a major role in the formation of the next Government in the State as many of their candidates will emerge victorious in their respective seats.

He further stated that they have approached and given the party ticket for the upcoming election to Thangjam Arunkumar considering his hard work towards the development of Wangkhei AC.

If the people of Manipur provide the opportunity to the JD(U) candidates to serve their respective Assembly Constituencies their first priority will be to work for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society, he assured.
