Imphal, November 02 2013 :
All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) said it is saddened and shocked to learn the series of bomb blasts at public places where innocent people are killed and injured.
"This is extremely inhuman and gross violation of human rights as draconian as AFSPA 1958.The innocent public are made stoic under bitter emotions with mental disorientation which accounts to so many psychiatric patients in Manipur.
If ever the cause of sister Irom Sharmila's philosophy on against innocent killings is understood, then it is ought to refrain from such public massacres.
So, it is pleaded to whoever is responsible of the blast to have mercy on innocent public," AMTU general secretary Romeo Bungdon said.
It then sarcastically asked, "Should we assume that Jihad has emerge in Manipur too?" .
Life is the most precious of anything which is not a commodity.
That is the most basic human right, the tribal body stated.
AMTU then appeals to the state authority to serve more inputs to detect to thwart and foil such 'fanatic or diabolic honour killing type' to innocent public.
AMTU also conveys its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) Imphal Branch has decried the blast that occurred at Moreh Parking at Yaiskul which claimed the lives of three innocents.
Terming the incident as uncivilised, barbaric and inhumane and saying that such activities carried out by an underground organisation was very unfortunate, a statement issued by the TSA all concerned not to repeat such violent activities in public places.
The students' body blamed lapse of security from Govt side for the blast while adding that the large number of police personnel deployed around Imphal city is just an eyewash.
