Raizan Long slams

Stating that there was never a village of the name Leisan, the Raizan Long, a union of 15 Headmen of different villages in Kamjong Sub-Division has vehemently condemned the alleged map of Leisan.
According to a press note of Raizan Long, a team of agents from land settlement department of the State Govt came in a provoking and outrageous manner to Kamjong under Ukhrul district for demarcating boundaries of the so called Leisan Village.
The team was headed by Ramthing Hungyo of Ngarumphung Village, Leada Hungyo W/o Tiken Sopam of Singjamei, Imphal, Jackson Hungyo and Aamon Hungyo of Bungpa Khunou Village, the note stated and strongly condemned Ramthing Hungyo for undermining and framing such an outrageous theory/scheme, which is directly against the Tangkhul Naga Customary law.
The press note pointed out that the Headmen of neighbouring villages in a meeting on June 26 last convened by Raizan Long took a firm resolution to never compromise even an inch of their respective land to the outside force (MLR/LR Act) .
The Raizan Long strongly condemned the letter dated February 23, 2011 addressed to the Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul by the SDO Kamjong Hmangte Lerte Kom, MCS, regarding the land demarcation without official notification and the consent of the Headmen, it added.
