New office bearers of AMSU take oath

An oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) was held today at its headquarter in DM University campus.
Former president of AMSU Leihaothabam Sharatchandra administered oath to the newly elected office bearers including Haobijam Chalamba Meetei (President), Athouba Laishram and Salam Open (vice president), Thongam Bikramjit (secretary general), Sagolsem Ingocha and Prikeshwor Moirangthem (joint secretary) and Wangkheimayum Rimakan (publicity and information secretary) among others.
Speaking as the chief guest, Leihaothabam Sharatchandra stressed on the need of delivering the duties by AMSU in the interest of the State within certain limitations inorder to avoid any unwanted outcome.

Being a study body, it is of utmost importance to take a decision after thoroughly considering the pros and cons of a particular thing as a minor mistake will put the organisation in the wrong limelight, he added.
Haobijam Chalamba Meetei asserted that AMSU will urged the Government that the wards of Govt employees are admitted in Govt Schools as it will majorly contribute in improving the status of Govt schools in the State.
He further stated that AMSU will check on the prevailing issue where aspiring students of Class X and XII exams are forced to stay in hostels inorder to get internal marks and the new trend of coaching systems in the State.
And AMSU will urge the Government to draft a policy where in all the students receives equal share of education and will conduct anti drug campaigns for the welfare of the students, he added.
Lastly he called for collective efforts from all to build a developed society and to continue to have faith in AMSU.
Former joint secretary and convenor of JCILPS, YK Dhiren expressed belief that new office bearers of AMSU will continue the path of serving the society for the betterment of the future generations and for the society as a whole.
