Jt meet of religious groups held

Imphal, April 02 2013: A joint conference of Kanglei Yelhou Enat and other religious groups was convened at the community hall of Sagolband Sayang Pukhri Mapal today with Soubam Erikkhomba, Nepram Bihari, Tombi, L Lokeshore and N Tombi among others as presidium members.

After a thorough discussion on various issues, the conference decided to hold the Yaishkul Pana's meeting on April 07 and convened the next joint conference at Kangla on April 13 .

Among other speakers, Yaikhomba observed that the present socio-cultural environment in Manipur is in a confused state.

Nonetheless, under the guidelines of Indian Constitution, we should protect and preserve our culture, tradition, customs, rituals, etc.

Vidyapati Senjam pointed out that Meeteis in Manipur are becoming minority group and other other groups are taking advantage of all the benefits and opportunities due to a minority community.
