Many condemn FIR filed against Korounganba

Bishnupur/Thoubal, December 01 2024: Many organizations across the State staged protest demanding withdrawal of FIR filed against Korounganba Khuman, leader of Arambai Tengol by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Condemning FIR filed against Korounganba Khuman, Meitei Community Joint Co-ordinating Committee along with meira paibis staged protest at Babu Bazar raising various slogans like "Withdraw FIR filed by NIA against Korounganba", "Don't arrest village volunteers", "Traced whereabouts of Kamal Babu who went missing from Leimakhong Army Camp", "Repeal AFSPA from the six police stations immediately".

Speaking at the protest, S Anita expressed dissatisfaction over the State Government and Central Government attempt to arrest village volunteers who are sacrificing their lives for their motherland.

If the NIA tries to arrest Korounganba with the charges, the NIA must also arrest all the mothers of "Meitei Community Joint Coordinating Committee" like Korounganba, said Anita.

The committee further demanded the Government to trace the whereabouts of Kamal Babu, failing which the Government should be held responsible.

Meanwhile, Salungpham Apunba Meira Paibi also held a protest at Salungpham condemning the filing of FIR against Kourounganba by NIA.

Various slogans were raised demanding cancellation of the FIR filed against Korounganba.

Bishnupur area meira paibis along with the people of Bishnupur also held similar protests at Bishnupur Bazar condemning the filing of FIR against Korouganba Khuman by NIA.

People of Bishnupur urged the Central and State Government to immediately withdraw the FIR filed upon Korounganba Khuman and demanded to drop charges against him.
