According to Association general secretary Rabishankar Likmabam a joint meeting of the technical support staff and assistant finance/account managers was held at Manipur press Club on October 30 following which a five-point charter of demand was submitted to the Government on the next day with November 15 set as the deadline to implement the demands.
In the said representation, copies of which were sent to the State's Health and Family Welfare Minister, Chief Secretary who is also Secretary/chairman of State Health Society's Governing Body and Mission Director of State Health Society, demands were raised for early clearance of pending arrears for the year 2011-12; prepare structure of the model terms and conditions (service rules) of the contract employees; streamline pay structure compatible to other existing relevant post; constitute a pay committee to streamline salary of NRHM contractual staff; and payment of honorarium to ASHAs to motive them work effectively and efficiently, detailed the secretary.
He further asserted that in case Government of Manipur do not act positively at the earliest, functioning of district hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres, primary health sub-centres and district mobile medical units would be severely affected.
