Six days after Churachandpur DC Shyam Lal Poonia directed the SDO/SDC of Churachandpur to submit a report regarding the issuance of residential and tribe certificates to two Myanmarese Nationals who were earlier arrested from Imphal airport, police today arrested the chief of Lamzang village .
The two were arrested at Imphal airport on September 14 with fake residential certificates of Mizoram .
Significantly the Churachandpur DC cracked the whip on September 25 after The Sangai Express broke the story of how the two Myanmarese Nationals were issued residential and tribe certificates on September 24 .
According to a reliable source, the chief of Lamzang village was picked up by a police team at about 2.30 pm today after a formal complaint was lodged by the SDC, Churachandpur for issuing the tribe and residential certificates .
The village chief, L Suankhogin had allegedly identified the two Myanmarese as residents of Lamzang village .
The village chief who was produced before the Duty Magistrate today has been remanded to custody till October 6 .

The two Myanmarese to who the tribe and residential certificates were issued are Khuplampang (21) son of Nungzuhou of Dimzang village, Tedim, Myanmar and Chin Tawi Dim (22) son of Thangza Suan of Taham village, Kalimeyo Myanmar .
