19 Jr BDOs designated as DDOs

Altogether 19 Junior Block Development Officers (BDOs) posted at 18 Community Development (CD) Blocks and one Tribal Development (TD) Block in seven districts across the State have been designated as Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) Department with immediate effect.
An order to this effect was issued by the RD&PR Joint Secretary on March 30 .
According to the order, the Junior BDOs of Sawombung CD Block (Imphal East-I), Keirao Bitra CD Block (Imphal East-II), Heingang CD Block, Kshetrigao CD Block, Haorangsabal CD Block (Imphal West-I), Wangoi CD Block (Imphal West-II), Hiyangthang CD Block, Patsoi CD Block, Bishnupur CD Block, Moirang CD Block, Nambol CD Block, Thoubal CD Block, Wangjing-Tentha CD Block, Lilong CD Block, Kakching CD Block, Langmeidong CD Block, Jiribam CD Block and Samulamlan TD Block have been designated as DDOs.
The State Cabinet adopted a decision on December 9 last year to abolish the post of BDO.
As such, due process is underway to issue an official order regarding abolition of the post of BDO, sources informed.
Once the post of BDO is abolished, the Junior BDOs may be declared as Heads of Office, mentioned the order issued by the RD&PR Joint Secretary.
