Seminar organised on "Historical Necessity of Manipuri Revolution"

A seminar on "Historical Necessity of the Manipuri Revolution" was held today at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Organised by the Freedom Research Foundation, the seminar was graced by Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat as chief guest, former Minister RV Mingthang as president and Prof.Arambam Lokendro as guest of honour respectively.
Moderated by Dr Lokendra Arambam, various resource persons presented papers in the occasion.
Prof N Joykumar, Dept.
of History, Manipur University presented paper on "Genesis of the Manipuri revolution and National Liberation Movement", Prof.S Lokendrajit Head of Department of Philosophy, MU on "The Question of self determination and sovereignty of Manipur under the British colonial rule and Indian colonialism" .
Other resource persons who presented seminar papers were Prof W Nabakumar, Director of Myanmar Studies on "India's Grand Strategy to win over the Hearts and Minds of the oppressed people of Manipur and reading their mind-sets", Dr.Ch Priyoranjan, Economic Dept.
MU on "India's Counter Revolution in the North East region with look east policy in the wake of globalization with vision 2020'' and Social activist Dr Dhanabir Laishram on "A new dimension of Indian imperialism and Manipuri revolution in the 21st century" respectively.
Director of Human Rights Alert Babloo Loitongbam also presented paper on "Right to life, human dignity and freedom: the slogan of Manipuri revolution" .
The seminar was adjourned early due to the bomb blast occurred nearby the main gate of ongoing Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival located around 100 metres from the venue.
