Swachh Bharat mission concludes at Senapati

Senapati, October 31 2014 : Swachh Bharat campaign in Senapati district came to an end today with a series of activities taken up by the District Administration under the leadership of PHE Department, Senapati.

Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus attended the closing ceremony of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The Deputy Commissioner, has however, kept the momentum of the mission going with a village level competition that continues even after the official closure of the mission at Senapati.

The inspection for the same is expected to be carried out on November 1 for villages that have not been covered in the first round.

Speaking at the occasion, DC Jacintha requested the citizens to maintain cleanliness even after the campaign.

The closing ceremony was also attended by MS Jerome, Director, 'Nature's call' .

Alow Gabriel AE, PHED, Senapati delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the DC and the entire department, frontal organizations, students and the public for the cooperation during the mission.

The PHE also organized a street play and mobile van campaign to spread awareness and promote sanitation.

The street play staged by professionals from Imphal, displayed effective message through real life episode of the prevailing situation in the district.

It also highlighted the measures for accessing sanitation programmes and schemes.

The first play was performed at Karong Bus parking at 12 pm and at Traffic Point at 3 pm.
