Kangpokpi, July 31 2022:
Health staffers, who were newly posted to the district hospital, are yet to report for duty even after five days of their transfer and posting order was issued by the health department.
It may be recalled that the CSOs of Kangpokpi's proposed total shut down over the shortage of staff at district hospital was called off after the health department issued a transfer and posting order of a few MHS doctors and other medical staff, of which one doctor, two staff nurses, and two Grade-IV staffers are posted at the district hospital, and the remaining after the assembly session.
However, representatives of Kangpokpi CSOs while visiting the hospital found that none of the newly posted health staff had reported at their place of posting.
In this connection, KSO Sadar Hills president Satminthang Kipgen said that as per the health department's orders, Dr Bernard Potsangbam (medical officer), Mayanglambam Alliza Chanu (staff nurse), Kamang Gangmei Azenlu (staff nurse), Hatneikim Lhouvum (grade-iv), and Loitongbam Bimola Devi (grade-iv) are posted at the CHC Kangpokpi.
He further said that the proposed agitation was called off after the government assured of filling up the remaining posts as per the MGEL sanctioned posts after the assembly session and expressed dismay that the newly posted health staffers fail to join their duty despite the orders.
The KSO-SH leader then warned that if the newly posted health staffers fail to report for duty, as per the orders, within two days, "we will consider the orders meaningless, null and void, and we will be compelled to resort to more intense agitation" .
He added, "We are also watching and waiting for the government as to whether they are committed to their own commitment in filling up the remaining posts as per the MGEL sanctioned posts after the assembly session" .
