Imphal, July 31 2011: The State Vigilance Department established with the objective of checking corruption and graft practices in Government departments has been greatly influenced by politics, alleged women supporters of Th Bishwajit who were staging a protest demonstration against his suspension from service.

A series of protest demonstration staged at different places of Thongju AC against the suspension of Bishwajit allegedly based on a false report submitted by Vigilance Department concluded today.

The women protesters while pointing out that several scandals which plagued MANITRON, Social Welfare and other departments have been kept under wraps, alleged that Vigilance Department's recommendation against Th Bishwajit was done under a political conspiracy.

Suspension of Bishwajit by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department based on the Vigilance Department's recommendation without conducting any enquiry is unacceptable, they asserted.

The women protesters urged upon the Chief Minister to look into the issue and revoke the suspension order of Bishwajit.

Protest demonstrations were staged today at Chongabi Bazar, Laikol, Sunlight Club, Yubraj Palli Thongkhong and KSC Kongba Nandeibam Leikai for the same cause.
