Training programme for school headmasters

School leadership training programme for headmasters kick started today at SSA, State Mission Authority premises located at Babupara.
The ten day training programme for school headmasters was organised by SCERT in association with RMSA and SSA.
The training programme is aimed at imparting necessary qualities to the newly promoted Headmasters and Principals of various Government educational institutions.
Director of SCERT M Meenakuamri attended the inauguration function as the chief guest while Addl State Project Director of RMSA, L Nandakumar was the functional president.
Commenting on the training programme, M Meenakumari said that the programme would surely develop the leadership qualities of the headmasters.
She added that the role and responsibilities of a school Headmaster and Headmistress are immense.
A speaker of the function, Kh Dinesh said that with the changing teaching techniques, teachers must update themselves and adapt to changes.
Dinesh urged the participating teachers to avail maximum benefits of such training and become quality based institutional leaders.
Functional president, L Nandakumar stated that the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI sanctions huge amount of money to bring quality education in the country, but here the scenario of education system has a different story.
Though various schemes and projects under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) are pouring in, they would be of little benefit if the head of an institution is not capable of managing a school, he added.
The school leadership training programme will provide basic training on personality development, effective discipline skills, classroom management skills etc to about 50 Headmasters/ Headmistresses from various parts of the State.
