Imphal, March 29 2012: The PREPAK (Progressive) planted a hand grenade inside the complex of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) today.

The explosive was found at a block of Psychiatric Department which is currently under construction at around 1.30 pm.

The Chinese hand grenade was found in a polythene bag together with a written note, a packaged drinking water bottle and an ORS pack.

It was written in the note signed by one Yaiphaba of PREPAK (Progressive) that the bomb was placed for continuing construction of the block against the directive of the outfit.

A team of police bomb experts exploded the grenade at a secluded place at Langol area.

Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants exploded a hand grenade at the gate of a retired Graduate teacher at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai at around 7 pm today.

Owner of the house, Pukhrambam Ibohal (65) was clueless about the incident as nobody has ever intimidated his family regarding any matter.

Nobody was hurt in the incident except some damages to the iron gate and GI sheet roof of an extended house.
