Imphal, January 29 2015 : The 8th general conference of Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (All Liangmai Naga Students' Union) was held successfully from Jan 21 to 23 at Ntu village, Peren district, Nagaland.

According to a statement, the opening ceremony was attended by MLA Z Kikhonbou while the closing ceremony was attended by MLA N Awangbou.

Around 5000 delegates from 37 registered units or villages attended the programme, it said.

Nk Job was elected as the president of LNKR for the term 2015-18 during the conference.

Mathew Charenamai, Angeibou Chawang, Dithiubow and Ch Namsaunglibou were elected as the vice-presidents, general secretary and asst gen secy of the union.

Besides, 20 office bearers of the union were also elected.

Th Christina of Imphal was crowned Miss Liangmai while Gracy Pamai and Tingthiulinglu Marianmai were adjudged the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

Thalon Students' Union, Manipur bagged the first prize of the cultural dance competition while Miss Liwang Chawang of Nagaland was given the Liangmai Idol title.

Competition in different disciplines of games and sports was also held during the conference.
