Rally, sit in protest held at Heirok

Demanding against any impact on the integrity of the State, a large number of students organised a rally followed by a sit in protest at Heirok under Thoubal district yesterday.
Ningol Heirok Club and People Action For Change Heirok organised the protest, under the aegis of COCOMI, in which students from different schools in Heirok took out the rally began from Heirok part-III Higher Secondary School and at areas around Heirok Khul.
A sit in protest was also organised at Heirok part-II Bazar later in the day, reports our correspondent.
The protesters raised slogans against any impact on integrity of State as a result of the peace talks, against handing autonomy and two Government in the same State and extension of Article 371 (A) .

On the other hand, in view of the mass Meira rallies organised at different locations of the State , Joint Committee on People's Welfare Yairipok (JCPWY), an apex body of 12 clubs in Yairipok, also took out a torch rally at Yairipok Bazar and Komla Chingkhong in Yairipok Malom yesterday.
Meira Paibis and clubs from Yairipok Bamon Leikai, Laimanai and Bishnunaha, who were taking part in the Meira rally, assembled at Yairipok Bazar wherein they raised many slogans against any effect on the integration of the State.
On the other hand, YLMC Malom, PYC-Leirongthel, CSWC-Chandrakhong, NYC Ningel, EYUC-Kakmyai, ZYC-Malom, under the aegis of JCPWY, organised Meira rallies at their respective Leikais and gathered at Komla Chingkhong and shouted many slogans as well.
On the other hand, welcoming the peace talks between the India Government and NSCN-IM, Thoubal Area Meitei Christian Development Committee (TAMCDC) has conveyed that it will stand strong against any statement/concept in the peace talks that can affect the integrity of the State.
Speaking to media persons at Christ Chapel Church in Khangabok Sorok Wangma today, TAMCDC secretary N Ibosana said that the solution to the Indo-Naga peace talks should not pose any kind of threat to the State's integrity.
He added that if the solutions does cause any impact or hinder the State's integrity, then all the Churches under TAMCDC including GSCI Kairembikhok, Grace Bible Church ThoubaI, APCW, ECA Khangabok, CC Khangabok, Athokpam Baptist Church, DTM Penticost Khangabok, House of Prayer Church Khangabok, CBC Charangpat, UPCM Wangbal, Believer Church Wangbal and Christist Baptist Singlup will condemn and stand against it.
TAMCDC president Y Joykumar, treasurer N Munal and member Ksh Sachi and members of other Churches were present at the press meet.
