Imphal, September 27 2019:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has once again pronounced its commitment to safeguard the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary.
Apart from swearing in newly elected office bearers, the 11th general body meeting of AMUCO was held today at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the general body meeting, newly elected AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang asserted that AMUCO will always work for the integrity of the State.

Soon after its establishment on February 12, 1993, people started acknowledging and appreciating different activities of AMUCO, he claimed.
Carrying the messages that the integrity of Manipur is non-negotiable and all the communities must co-exist and prosper together, AMUCO organised a historic mammoth rally on August 4, 1997 at Imphal.
The historic rally is assumed as the biggest rally ever and was followed by a public convention.
The public convention adopted a firm resolution to safeguard the integrity of Manipur and the sanctity of its territorial boundary at all costs.
Since then AMUCO has been working on the line of this historic resolution, asserted the newly elected president.
Although Manipur is a small Nation in terms of territory and population, it took many centuries for Manipur to achieve its present status.
It took around 15 centuries to unify the seven principalities of the seven clans which ruled different parts of Manipur valley.
In the next phase, successive kings had to struggle hard for decades to unite the hills and valley of Manipur, Nando said.
Given these historical facts, no force should ever dare to challenge the integrity of Manipur.
AMUCO has no grudge against any community or organisation or individual but it would never compromise but fight befittingly if any force dares to challenge the State's integrity, he asserted.
Yet, several natural and man-made forces have been stressing the socio-political fabric of Manipur.
Even as the State has been struggling to contain the incessant influx of non-local people, Government of India has been working to pass CAB.
Moreover, New Delhi has been fervently advocating a one Nation, one language policy, he observed.
Hindi is already an official language of India but the way the Central Government has been actively advocating one Nation, one language policy smacks of a sinister motive to disfigure identities of minority communities and ultimately assimilate them into the dominant community, he decried.
AMUCO will study the matter very minutely, he added.
Commenting on the protracted political dialogue between India and NSCN-IM, Nando remarked that the issue is a very sensitive one.
AMUCO would never take up any action on the issue based on emotion or presumptions, he said.
The general body meeting cum swearing in ceremony was attended by AMUCO's outgoing president Ph Deban, election committee chairman Ito Tongbram, advisors NC Khuman, N Shyamsunder, R Yangsosong Koireng, L Ranjit and W Gunindro as presidium members.
The team of 27 newly elected office bearers who were sworn in today included president Ph Nando Luwang, vice-presidents K Helen, Sarat Golmei, NC Modhuchandra, Sorokhaibam Sanjoy and general secretary Laishram Thoi.
Ph Deban said that he would continue to keep close touch with AMUCO and contribute his mite in all State issues even though his tenure as president is over.
Pointing out that several issues have been plaguing the State, Deban underscored the need to further strengthen AMUCO.
