Imphal, June 27 2018:
While asserting that no true Naga patriots can be the friends of Indian military forces, the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has accused the NSCN-IM of walking hand in hand with Indian military forces without consent of Naga public leaders, elders and the younger generation.
A statement issued by MNPF assistant secretary, information and publicity Learning Zimik said that severing relationship with the Government of India and its military forces is the bounden duty of every Naga patriot in order to safeguard one's dignity as a proud Naga warrior and citizen.
The Naga patriots should never, ever provide any space for the Indian military forces to be called "the friends of the hill people" unless the Government of India admits the atrocities meted out against the Naga people in the past decades.
The Government of India must compensate for the innocent tens of thousands of Nagas allegedly murdered by the Indian military forces, it demanded.
Unless the necessary requirements of these demands are met, the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) along with the Naga public and the North-East revolutionary groups will stand tooth and nail until the God given dignity of the Nagas and the North Eastern ethnic groups are realized and restored with full honour even though the NSCN-IM may sign any sort of agreement with the Government of India, it asserted.
Befriending security forces of the Government of India by NSCN-IM is a total insult to the Naga ancestors who had selflessly sacrificed their pleasures, all precious moments one could have enjoyed with their families, friends and lived normal lives as others but left everything for the sake of saving and protecting the Nation, it added.
