Pro-ILPS stir continues

Agitation demanding ILPS implementation is still going on at different parts of the State.
10 indefinite hunger strikers including four juveniles, who escaped from Juvenile Observation Home, Takyelpat, have been pulled by police from their Keishampat agitation venue located in front of DESAM head office at around 6.30 pm today.
Soon after their arrest, the fourth batch of seven hunger strikers including three juveniles have begun the stir.
They have been identified as finance secretary of DESAM Bishnupur District Council, Nongthombam Naoba s/o (L) N Shyamkishore of Oinam Nongthombam Leikai, general secretary of DESAM Pangaltabi Wangoo Unit Council Mayengbam Somorjit s/o M Brojen of Pangaltabi Awang Leikai, organisation secretary and coordinator of DESAM Imphal West District Council Yensenbam Ashokumar s/o Y Ingo of Langthabal Mantrikhong Awang Leikai, Huidrom Johnson s/o H Bhubon of Khumbong Mayai Leikai, Oinam Romesh s/o O Ranjit of Phubala Makha Leikai and Laitonjam Poireihanba s/o L Manitomba of Mongjam Mamang Leikai.
They launched their hunger strike after offering candles at the photograph of Sapam Robinhood and receiving blessings from their parents tonight.
On the other hand, all the arrested students were rushed to RIMS hospital for medical treatment.
Laipubam Krishna Kumar Sharma, who had been staging indefinite hunger strike at Thangmeiband near THAU ground, had been picked up by police at around 9 am yesterday.
After his arrest, the fourth batch of hunger strikers - Samurailatpam Dhananjoy Sharma (43) of Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai, Aribam Ibomcha (25) of Nagamapal Soram Leirak and Salam Arun of Nagamapal Soram Leirak - have begun their stir from 7.30 am today.
Meanwhile, a large number of people staged sit-in-protest and formed human chain shouting pro-ILPS slogans at Uyumpok Litan Makhong in Imphal East district today.
People of Meitei, Kom and Muslim took part at the agitation staged under the joint aegis of JCILPS and Purum Area Youth Development Association.
JCILPS co-convenor Kheiruddin Shah Moijingmayum and Medical Helpline convenor Ksh Somorendro also participated in the protest.
