2 held in CCpur kidnap case

The Churachandpur Police have apprehended two suspects, including a serving Assam Rifles personnel in connection with the kidnapping of Khwairakpam Ibungo Singh (40) on Saturday at Khumujamba Meitei Leikai, moments after rescuing him at G Khonom village located adjacent to Khuga Dam.
Police sources said they have rescued Ibungo at around 5.10pm yesterday from G Khonom village.
They have detained two individuals, a serving AR personnel posted with 35 AR in Sajik Tampak and a cadre of KLO/KLA (Timothy group).
The AR personnel (Rifles No.5005547-F) have been identified as Marimsanglen Chothe, 26 son of M Amute Chothe of New Wangma Village in Chandel Dist, while the KLA cadre was identified as Satkithang Kipgen, 23 son of Khailam Kipgen of Saikul Village in Senapati District.
The police are still hunting for other accomplices in the crime, said a source that claimed that Ibungo was kidnap on Saturday night at around 7.30pm while he was heading home in a Honda Activa by a Pulsar Bike and a Honda Activa borne youths.
An FIR under section 400/365/34 IPC was registered against the apprehended duo, who were granted police custody till April 4, 2012 by the CJM.
