MAHUD Minister inaugurates pay and use public toilet at Jiri Ima market

Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) Minister, Thounaojam Shyamkumar yesterday said that the Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh is committed for the overall development of the State.
Stating that the Government is concerned and is committed for the development of the Jiribam district, he said the development of Jiribam district will be one of the key factors for the development of the State.
Minister Shyamkumar made the statement at the inauguration of the pay and use public toilet at the Jiri Ima Market in Jiribam district, organised by the Jiribam Municipal Council.
He further said that the State has two lifelines - Imphal-Dimapur and Imphal-Jiribam National Highways - and the infrastructural development of the Jiribam district will solve the problems for the State.
He said the various departments of the State mainly MAHUD, Forest and Horticulture and Soil Conservation departments are wholeheartedly working and implementing various schemes and projects in the district in collaboration with the locals.
Regarding the pay and use public toilet at Jiri Ima Market, he said the public toilet will help the people including women vendors who were earlier facing problems due to lack of public urinal in the area.
Saying that a highly maintained toilet is a mark of disciplined people, he requested all to maintain the newly inaugurated public toilet neat and clean.
He also assured to the people that a hall will be constructed soon as per the demand of the people, after the completion of the required procedures.
The function was also attended by K Saratkumar Singh, Vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd; S Shanti Devi, Chairperson, Jiribam Municipal Council; H Bobby Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Mubi Moirangthem, SP, Jiribam district; Councillors of the Jiribam Municipal Council, all the DLOs and local residents of the area.
