Rs 60 crores for PWD

Imphal, June 25 2012: With the Public Works Department allocated only Rs 60 crores out of the total plan outlay for the current fiscal year, many top officials of the department are worried if it can execute any project within the current fiscal year.

A high-ranking official of the department remarked that this year's allocation would not be sufficient even for repairing roads, leave aside executing new projects.

Notably, PWD was allocated Rs 360 crores during the last fiscal.

The sectoral allocation for the current financial year is IFCD Rs 600 crores, MI Rs 110 crores, MAHUD Rs 187 crores and Rs 135 crores reach for PHED, Power and Education Department.
