Husband appeals for speedy justice

Lourembam Loken has appealed to the authority concerned for a speedy trial to deliver justice for the death of his wife .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Loken said that the accused of the rape and murder case, Laishram Ibomcha of Yairipok Mayai Leikai, is presently kept in judicial custody at Sajiwa Central jail and the Court trial is under way regarding the case and is nearing the stage of hearing of prosecution witness .
It has been three years since the rape and murder incident occurred on August 2, 2014, when his wife went to work in the paddy fields at Kek Mayai Mana loukon .
He said that due to the long Court proceeding, he has to take out time from his work as he is a mason who is working for his daily wages .
He further pointed out that the accused has also filed a bail application before the Court and the hearing of the bail application was listed before the Court yesterday.
