DC imposes containment measures in Thoubal

Thoubal, May 24 2021: The Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, in a statement issued today, declared stringent containment measures in selected geographical areas under Thoubal district in a bid to control the surge of COVID-19 infection in the second wave.

The measures include sealing of the geographical areas, ban of entry and exit of people from the containment areas, and initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases.

Containment measures were imposed at the residential complex of - Rukeiya of Phouden Mamang Leikai, M Milendro Singh of Khangabok Awang Leikai, L Basanta Singh of Thoubal Bazar, Naorem Nimai Singh of Heirok, Y Yaiskul Singh of Thoubal Khekman, L Tombi Devi of Kiyam Siphai, Huidrom Memton of Wangjing, Y Kesho Singh of Lilong Arapti Maning Leikai, W Ashangbi Devi of Khoirom Mathak Leikai, S Rohen Singh of Heirok Part 1, Anilkumar of Tentha Khunou, Kh Ashokumar of Wangjing SK Leikai Khundrakpam Kollup, S Manglem of Kairenbikhok Mamang Leikai, Th Kunjapati of Leishangthem Thoubal, Th Chandakumar of Khangabok Khullakpam Leikai, Lourembam Amumcha of Nungei Mamang Leikai, M Roshni Devi of Ukhongsang Maning Leikai, K Sanatomba of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, L Shabi Devi of Khangabok Laipat, P Ito of Langathel Mamang Leikai, M Ibocha of Ukhongsang Mamang Leikai, it added.

It may be mentioned that 21 residents of Thoubal district were tested COVID-19 positive and in the view of the impending threat of COVID-19 pandemic in the areas, containment measures to prevent spread of the disease in the district was necessitated.
