Imphal, May 24 2012: NT Theatre Manipur will organise the 2nd North East Theatre Festival 2012 at its play house at Changangei Uchekon from June 3 to 9 .

Speaking to reporters in a press conference today, festival director Ningthouja Deepak said that the 7-day festival is being organised with an aim to bring cultural integration among the States of North East region.

NT Theatre Manipur's A Far Cry would be the opening play of the festival.

Directed by Ningthouja Deepak, the writer of the play is renown theatre critic Budha Chingtham.

Two theatre groups from Guwahati and one from Tripura are taking part in the festival.

On June 4, the second day of the festival, Sacrifice of Nirghosh Nikwan, Tripura will be staged.

Enai Lok Kotu Dekha Nai of Anubhav, Guwahati and Saba Kota Manuah of BA, Guwahati will be presented on June 7 and 9 respectively.

On June 5, 6 and 8, Cosmo Drama Manipur's Khudop, Manipur Dramatic Union's Bisarjan and Theatre Mirror Manipur's Kushdita Passan will be staged respectively.
