Imphal, July 23 2011: A branch of the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Bank Limited was opened today at Thoubal district.

This is the second branch of the bank in the State.

The new branch of HDFC was built at Thoubal Athokpam near DC office complex.

The inaugural function of the bank branch was attended by Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar, MLA of Wangkhem A/C Keisham Meghachandra Singh, SP of Thoubal district K Jayenta and 8th IRB CO N Satrajit as presidium members.

While the bank office was inaugurated by Health Minister Jayantakumar, MLA Meghachandra opened an ATM booth.

It is said that the new bank branch of HDFC would offer its customers world-class banking services under one roof ranging from basic services such as Saving Account, Fixed Deposits, Current Account, Mutual Funds, Recurring Deposits, Demate to sophisticated direct acess banking channels such as ATM, Phonebanking, NetBanking and International Credit and Debit Cards and all asset products.

It is reported that efforts are on to open two more branches of HDFC at Senapati and Churachandpur by October this year.
