VC launches Go Green Campus initiative in MU

Manipur University Vice Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey today launched Go Green Campus initiative today in Manipur University in a function organized by the Manipur University Students' Union.
Prof Arunkumar, Dean, School of Human and Environmental Sciences, Prof N Lokendra Singh, Dean School of Social Sciences, Prof N Ibotombi, Controller of Exam, Prof M Shyamkesho Singh, Registrar (i/c), Manipur University and other officials were also present at the function.
Vice Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, while addressing the gathering, stressed the need to maintain good health and further encouraged the gathering to promote cycling as daily transport mode in the campus.
Fifty cycles will be available for use within the university campus, he added.

Buchi Mayangbam, president of Manipur University Students' Union expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and officials of MU for their support in making the Go Green Campus initiative a reality.
As a part of the programme, the Vice Chancellor led a cycle rally held within the campus.
On the other hand, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Manipur University today organized an inaugural function of "UGC-Sponsored Winter School on Sustainable Livelihood Strategy for Poverty Reduction".
The programme was graced by Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Prof M Ranjit Singh, Prof Kh Tomba Singh, Dr H Ramananda Singh as presidium members.
In the meantime, students of Needy Home Academy, Mapao Khulen, as part of educational exposure tour, visited Manipur University.
The students were warmly welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof Adya Prasad Pandey and other officials of the university.
