Imphal, October 22 2021: Ngangbam Robert has announced his candidature for the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election whichis slated to be heldin early part of 2022.Launching his election campaign from his residence at Singjamei Chingamathak, Ngangbam Robert said he had decided to venture into electoral politics with the aim of making Singjamei Assembly Constituency one of the most developed constituencies in the State.

Speaking to thousands of people attending the campaign launching programme, Ngangbam Robert said Singjamei AC is faring well in various development parameters but it still has a lot of areas that needs attention, including sustainable livelihood of thousands of residents of Singjamei.

He promised to work selftessly, for the improvement of financial status of the number of poor families of Singjamei AC.

Stressing on the importance of education in development, he said 'Ngangbam Meghachandra Singh Trust, opened in the name of his father, will start helping students, specially from poor families of Singjamei AC, for their education.

The trust will provide college/university fees, hostel fee and travelling cost for students but the students will be selected solely on the basis of merit, he added.

The trust is also planning to provide assistance to senior citizens, widow and differently abled individuals.

He and his supporters also started a house campaign and gift presentation to womenfolk for the upcoming Ningol Chakkouba.
