Imphal, October 22 2020: The People's Task Force for COVID-19 (PTFC-19) is continuing their campaign to create awareness about COVID-19 and measures to keep the virus at bay at various crowded corners, market places and localities.

As a part of their campaign, the volunteers of PTFC-19 today created awareness about the significance of observing SOP at market places, use of face masks, regular hand wash, maintenance of physical distance of at least 6 feet apart while in conversation etc at Nambol Keithel, Bishnupur Keithel and Ningthoukhong Keithel, said a statement of PTFC-19 .

During today's drive, various vendors and buyers were detected carrying out their activities sans face masks or using masks in an improper way and they were made to pay fine by the volunteers with the help of the Home Department, the Statement said.

Those who were found commuting without masks were provided masks and those who were using masks improperly were taught the right way to use it, the statement continued.

While seeking support towards the cause, PTFC-19 also maintained that similar drives will be conducted at other strategic locations, market places and localities across other districts of the State.

PTFC-19 also urged the State Government to pay heed to the demands raised by the six student bodies for a comprehensive COVID-19 counter measures to avert the deep implications of community transmission in the State.
