Angered over the delay in collaring the culprit, the JAC constituted against the killing of Laishram Sanaton has called a Thoubal district bandh tomorrow apart from staging a protest demonstration at Khangabok New Market today paralysing vehicular movements along Imphal-Moreh Highway.
The JAC had lodged a complaint with the Thoubal police station following which various sit-in-protests were organised by various groups/organisations under Khangabok A/C demanding immediate action from the State forces.
Mention may be made, (L) Sanaton was knocked dead by a Tata Sumo near Sorojini Oil Pump, Khangabok on June 16 .
The protest demonstration was also participated by members of KSA, Thoubal.
Even as a police team led by Additional SP Modhunimai and CDO OC Anand Kumar came to the protest site and talked with the protesters, the sides could not come to any agreement.
As such, the highway blockade went on till the time of filing this report.
The JAC has resolved to urge the authorities concerned to track and seize the vehicle which knocked down Sanaton.
