18 CCTV cameras smashed at exam centre

Imphal, February 22 2016: Altogether 18 CCTV cameras installed inside an equal number of classrooms of Biramangol College, Sawombung, Imphal East district under Lamlai police station were found vandalised.

The matter came to light just 15 minutes before commencement of the Higher Secondary Examination 2016 this morning.

Officials of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) while confirming that some CCTV cameras have been smashed, said that they have sought a detailed report from the Imphal East DC.

Although the CCTV cameras which were installed yesterday were found smashed, examination was held at the exam centre in accordance with the schedule.

It is said that all the damaged CCTV cameras would be replaced with new ones before the next exam day.

Door of one room was also found broken.
