13 year old boy from Manipur develops COROBOI - 3D Android Game

Imphal, August 21 2020: COROBOI, a 3D Corona based game was developed and uploaded in the Google Play Store by a 13 year old boy from Manipur.

The young developer Baldeep Ningthoujam is the son of Kishan Ningthoujam and Nebedita Ningthoujam from Kha-Naorem Leikai, Pechu Lampak.

Born in a family with a strong IT and Mechanical Engineering background, Baldeep started using computer at a very early age of 4 and is presently studying class 9 at Premier English School, Canchipur.

Baldeep is fluent with many programming languages such as Javascript, PHP, JAVA, Kotlin etcetera just to name a few.

In the past he designed websites and apps for many private companies, among them mention may be made of eThabak app, Manipur Times delivery app, Hello Food Express app and the website of Temple of Learning.

Baldeep has also launched a voice recognition car robot which recognizes Manipuri and English command and for this he received support from Karam Shyam, MLA of Langthabal Assembly Constituency.

About the game COROBOI, Baldeep developed the game solely using software like Unity, Blender and was coded in C# .

A description of the game uploaded in Google Play Store described it as "Coroboi is from Manipur (India).

He is stranded and wants to return home amidst the COVID-19 LOCKDOWN.

Wearing Leirum Phee (Manipuri traditional cloth) and a Mask, he will run towards his goal trying to avoid Corona Virus and Police.

He will be earning points during his journey" .

Baldeep wants to emphasise the use of Leirum Phee in the game, as it will let more people know about the origin of the traditional wear of Manipur and his appreciation towards indigenous artisans and most importantly the historial and cultural significance of it.

And through this game Baldeep wants to give awareness about the COVID-19 precautionary measures.

In a telephonic conversation with Imphal Times, Rakeshor Ningthoujam, uncle of Baldeep said, "The Game is now available as stable rollout in the Android platform but was unable to release for iOS platform because of the hefty fees imposed for a developer account to upload an app, even though the iOS version of the game is ready" .

It may not be wrong to say that Baldeep Ningthoujam is the youngest software developer in Manipur.

As a parting statement, the budding IT wizard expressed his intention of continuing with the development of Apps in the future both for entertainment and utility.
