Govt to take over 4 aided colleges

A Cabinet meeting held this afternoon with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair resolved to upgrade four Government aided colleges as full fledged Government colleges.
The four Government aided colleges which would upgraded to the level of full fledged Government colleges are South East Manipur College, Komlathabi, Moreh College, Waikhom Mani Girls College and SK Women College, informed a source.
The Cabinet meeting also agreed to lift the ban imposed on recruitment of manpower for Central sponsored schemes.
According to another decision adopted at the Cabinet meeting, the Directorate of Environment would be renamed as Directorate of Environment and Climate Change.
The State Cabinet further agreed to engage Robindro Sharma as the Chief Engineer of Thoubal Multipurpose Dam till March 2020 .
The Cabinet meeting also decided to authorise village authorities to handle Border Area Development Programme (BADP) works of up to Rs 20 lakh as against the current limit of just Rs 5 lakh.
It was also agreed to extend the service of Family Court Judges Ch Brajachand and Salam Imocha to February 2020.Settign up of four Special POCSO Court was also given the nod during the Cabinet meeting today.
Four posts of Judges will also be created for the four Special POCSO Courts, four posts of Special Public Prosecutor for the said Courts, 48 supporting staff.
It was also agreed to create four posts of Assistant Public Prosecutor for Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal.
The Cabinet further agreed to create four posts of Principal Magistrate for Juvenile Justice Board.
