One month Shumang Leela training concludes

One month long training on Shumang Leela Tradition and Festival of Moirang Prava organised by Manipur State Shumang Leela Council and Theatre Mirror Imphal was concluded on Sunday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen.
Addressing the function as chief guest, the Commerce and Industry Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that changes have been taken place in the society by the influence of Shumang Leela, Song, Dance, Theatrical performance.
He also observed that cultural treasures of the State seems diminishing in an unnoticing way and further appealed the cultural activists to tighten their belt to protect the same from disappearing.
He then conveyed his interest of providing necessary help and materials for bringing the art form to a more advanced stage in consultation with the Chief Minister.
He also mentioned that the tradition and culture is kept going in other countries of the world.
The Minister also lauded the Shumang Leela artistes who act as female character but male in real life for their uniqueness in the art form Shumang Leela and donated an amount of Rs 20000 to the organizers.
The Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar, the project Coordinator of the training programme Ph Gunachandra Sharma were also present during the function.
The participating artistes were motivated with prize and incentive.
Later on, the of Maibi Jagoi, Tribal war dance, Tangjabi � a folk tale, Moirang Prava enactment, Khori Keithelda Thoibi Khamnu, Thoibi Kaboda Loi Thaba and Thoibi Kabodagi Loi Karakpa were performed by the participating artistes.
