Thoubal, March 21 2017: Under the special programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal began a five day residential camp on Mahatma Gandhi Yuva Swachata Abhiyan Evam Shramdaan Karyakram at Rural Development Society training centre, Khongjom today.

DFO Thoubal, Amarjit Singh, IFS and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) State Director Sahib Singh attended as chief guest and president respectively.

Laishram Jailshyam Singh of Thoubal college, Kh Robindro Singh of RDS and W Ibohal Singh attended as guests of honour in the inaugural function.

Five days residential camp begins

Y Lakshman Singh, DYC highlighted the objectives and activities to be conducted during the camp including cleaning of schools, colleges, hospitals and public statues at Thoubal and Kakching blocks.

Apart from the work, camp lecture, group discussion, power point presentation on water conservation, protection and regeneration of forest, tree plantation, water conservation, health, hygiene, sanitation will be taken up during the five days long camp.

The schemes launched by the Government of India namely 'Skill India', 'Startupindia', 'Mission Indradhanush' will be taken up during the camp.

Divisional Forest Officer, Amarjit expressed gratitude towards the efforts of NYK for building up the capacity of youth and taking up a major role in keeping the surroundings clean.Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan State Director lauded the participants for their active involvement in fulfilling the mission of clean India by 2019 .
