Imphal, March 21 2016:
Taking serious note of the ever shrinking agricultural land in the State, the Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) is all set to hold a four-day residential camp cum awareness programme on the theme 'save paddy land' .
Speaking to media persons at their office today, IPAK chairman Sapamcha Jadumani said that residential camp cum awareness programme would be held from April 1 to 4 in the four valley districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal.
Deletion of the names of non-local people from voter list, keeping off non-local people from taking political power in the State, promotion of the indigenous people's population growth, checking sale of land to non-local people etc are some sub-themes/messages of the residential camp cum awareness programme.
Altogether 150 volunteers of IPAK would participate in the camp.
A street play titled Loubuk Na Thawaini would be staged at different places in the course of the awareness programme, Jadumani said.
A CD cassette of a musical composition of which the lyrics are written by Sapamcha Jadumani was also released today and the songs are sung by Bonium.
