Imphal, July 20 2024: The Court of Imphal East, Duty Magistrate has remanded the three persons arrested in connection with the killing of one Thokchom Ibomcha to police custody till July 23 .

Of the three accused, one is the son of the deceased and he has been identified as Bhupendra Thokchom alias Bhupen (38) of Khangabok Awang Leikai.

All three of them were arrested by Singjamei police on different dates.

Bhupendra left Manipur on June 30, a day after the body of his father was found lying near Leishang Hiden.

It is reported that Bhu-pendra surrendered before the IO of the case on July 13 and disclosed the name of co-accused Huirem Romenjit and another associate Akoijam Surchandra involved in the killing.

Bhupendra was remanded to police custody for 10 days after he surrendered.

Romenjit and Surchandra surrendered before the police on July 15 and July 17 respectively and both of them were sent to police custody for nine and six days respectively.

Thokchom Ibomcha (64) s/o (L) Amuba of Khangabok Awang Leikai was found lying dead at Leishang Hiden on June 29 .
