Villager complains against police inaction

Imphal, March 20 2012: Tuisang Zimik (45) of Kalhang village under Chingai police station of Ukhrul district has expressed unhappiness over the failure of the police to take up action against all those who attacked his house on for supporting the election process of the new village chairman.

Talking to mediapersons in this regard, Tuisang Zimik informed that after the former headman of the village failed to perform his duty, the villagers brought about election reforms in the village and elected Lungmi Zimik (55) on September 11 last year as the new headman.

However, his house has been targeted by some people on the ground of his involvement in the election of village headman.

Complaint had also been lodged with the police in this regard but so far no action have been initiated against the perpetrators.
