Winner of 42nd State level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children 2022-23 feted

Irashini Laiphrakpam, winner of 42nd State level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children 2022-23 conducted by the Department of Education (S) and her guide Hemam Babita Devi were felicitated today during a simple function held at Diligent Public School, Moirang.
Irashini Laiphrakpam, a class X student of the school secured the first prize in the exhibition for her model "Carbonizing Kiln of Pine Needle and Its Efficacy" showcasing how charcoal can be produced from pine wood and her guide Hemam Babita Devi, a teacher of the school was honoured with the Best Guide Teacher award in the exhibition.
Dr K Bijayarani Devi, principal of the school presented traditional shawls and simple gifts to Irashini and Babita and extended best wishes to Irashini for the upcoming competitions.
It may be noted that Irashini will be representing Manipur in the National Science Exhibition to be held at Pune next year.
Speaking to media persons at the sidelines, the principal of the school said that the school has been extending best possible support to their students in academic as well as extra curricular activities and other different fields and the students have brought laurels for the school in various competitions.
She accredited the success of the students to continued support rendered by the teachers and the parents.
Irashini Laiphrakpam who had also won the title 'Youngest Science Innovator of North East State' for presenting the Innovo Energy Saver ABCD at Innovation Festival held at the Regional Science Centre Guwahati in February this year said that she will continue to present innovative and useful products for mankind.
'Under the guidance of the teachers, I will continue to create useful products for the society', Irashini said.
Best Guide Teacher awardee, Assistant Teacher Hemam Babita Devi informed that a 'Multipurpose Use Product' presented by Irashini Laiphrakpam earlier have been taken by Innovation Hub Manipur for Patel Record.
She also expressed the desire of nurturing more young innovators of the State for the welfare of the people of the State.
