CM joins celebration of successful treatment of heart patients

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that there is the need to monitor and manage things at the micro-level if the State has to achieve progress and development.
He made the above statement while speaking at a function held at Hotel Imphal to celebrate three years of life-saving treatment of heart patients by Sky Hospital under CMHT and Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) schemes today.
The Chief Minister said that Chief Minister-gi Hakshel-gi Tengbang (CMHT) was conceived through his experience of meeting many people who could not afford medical treatment due to poverty during his career as a journalist and a politician.
He further said that he also came across many such cases while interacting with the public on Hill Leaders' Day and Meeyamgi Numit.
As such, he just passed the idea to the officials concerned, and they designed the scheme as it is seen today.

So far, over four lakh people have enrolled under the scheme, he added.
Shortly after implementation of CMHT in the State, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) was also introduced to support the needy people, he said and added that heart surgery had been successfully done on 175 patients under CMHT and 91 patients under Ayushman Bharat at Sky Hospital alone so far.
In this regard, the Chief Minister also lauded Dr L Shyamkishore Singh of Sky Hospital and his team for their dedication in serving the needy, stating that service to mankind is service to God.
Maintaining that there is need to keep every citizen of the State healthy, the Chief Minister said that the 'CM's Health for All' scheme had been launched to provide timely health check-up facility to all the people of the State at their doorsteps.
It would enable them to start early treatment if they are detected with any ailment, he added.
Regarding the matter of slow file process at Manipur Secretariat as complained by a panellist in a TV discussion, the Chief Minister clarified that e-Office File Management system is currently in practice in the State, and traditional paper file or dak system is being used for a few cases only.
Advisor to CM (Health) Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and Chairman and Chief Cardiologist of Sky Group of Hospitals Dr L Shyamkishore Singh also attended the occasion as presidium members.
The Chief Minister also cut a cake together with the children who have recovered from heart disease after surgery to celebrate their new lives.
Their parents also shared testimonials on how CMHT and Ayushman Bharat supported them in getting treatment for their wards.
They presented gifts to the Chief Minister and earnestly thanked him for introducing the scheme.
