Thoubal, August 19 2015: Joint club organisations of Wangbal and Uyul village along with Meira Paibis Lups staged a sit-in-protest at Wangbal Keithel demanding implementation of ILPS.

The protesters also staged a human chain protest along Imphal-Moreh highway blocking major portions of the road, our correspondent reports.

Sit-in-protests demanding ILPS were also held at Athokpam Awang Leikai bus waiting shed, Wabagai Leirak Achouba, Wabagai Awang Leikai, Wabagai Lamkhai market.

Teaching staff of Kakching Public School also staged a sit-in-protest at the school gate today joining in the protest.

Meanwhile, locals of Yairipok Huikap, Ngarian Muslim village and Uchol took out a torch rally at Imphal East demanding implementation of ILPS.

Organised jointly by Huikap Young Farmers' Club, Youth Development Association, Youth's Welfare Association, Huikap Ningthou Women Welfare Association, Ngarian Muslim Youths Sporting Club, Uchol Youths Club and local meira paibis, the rally was participated by about 1500 people.

The torch rally which was flagged off from Uchol village ended at Yairipok Thambalnu.
